What is Avian Influenza?
Avian influenza is the flu caused by Type A viruses that affect birds and are transmitted to human beings to the rest of the population from an infected individual or consumption of infected poultry.

Breathing Difficulties &Swollen head
Most poultry after contracting Avian Influenza they experience breathing difficulties since their respiratory tract is infected. On a quiet night, they can be heard snoring!!
Visit the Veterinarian ASAP
Visiting the veterinarian will help tackle the problem earlier. If you don't know any Vet officer in your area update your status in the Blue Bird App so that the Government can reach out immediately before further losses.
Poultry Diarrhoea
The room with poultry becomes very wet with the watery faecal matter this is an indicator of many diseases including Typhoid.
Avoid close contact and change the outfit every after visiting the poultry
This will prevent contamination into other poultry rooms and the environment since it will limit the transfer of virus through the poultry-keeping outfit and footwear.
Avian Influenza in Humans
Conjunctivitis, Flu-like illness like fever, cough, sore throat, muscle aches along with Nausea, Diarrhoea and Vomiting.
Isolate &Inform Clinical officers
Isolate to protect others and animals from getting it. Seek medication without leaving the house since leaving the house will spread the virus all the way to the hospital. Update your Status in the Blue Bird App and the Clinical officer will reach out.
